🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July.

“How can man die better than facing fearful odds?”—Horatius

Today, it’s worth remembering that America was founded against all odds.
It seemed hopeless to stand against the British Empire.

Yet men and women chose to fight anyway—because they held a vision so noble, so pure, so grand that it was worth any sacrifice to bring it to life.

That’s how civilizations are built.
And it’s how lives worth living are built, too:
by reverse-engineering everything we do from the highest vision we can hold.

A vision that makes all the distractions, temptations, and illusions of comfort look hollow by comparison.
A vision so compelling that even facing fearful odds becomes an honor.
The Revolution was the beginning of the free world as we know it.

America has never been perfect. It never will be—because life itself is imperfect.
But life is also about growth. About striving.

About choosing virtue over convenience and principle over expediency.

A capitalist economy—flawed as it can be—has always offered something precious:
the opportunity for self-actualization.
The chance to create. To build. To take responsibility for yourself and those you love.

Today, there is more darkness, more distraction, and more confusion than ever before.
Yet there is also a greater opportunity for fulfillment for those focused on the right things.
Because the nature of cycles is that the strongest growth often emerges from the hardest times.

Stefan Aarnio (RIP) wrote a great book about this cycle:
Hard times create strong men.
Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
Weak men create hard times.”

We are living at the tail end of that cycle.
Western culture is in decline.
Roman civilization shows us luxury always precedes decay.
The further we drift from the survival plane, the more room there is for illusion—more speculation about fundamentally works long term versus what doesn’t.

But reality is simple:
If you want to know whether an idea is good or evil, project what happens if everyone lives by it.

Today is a reminder that if we want to rebuild what matters, we must get back to fundamentals:
Strength.
Honor.
Marriage.
Family.
The things that built civilization in the first place.

Western birth rates are plummeting.
At this trajectory, by 2070 there will be more Muslims than Christians.
Marriage—imperfect as it can be—is still the backbone of any culture that survives itself.
No government can save us if we abandon the principles that create strong families, strong men, and strong communities.

This 4th of July, let’s remember:
Our ancestors faced fearful odds—and chose to stand anyway.
They understood that no empire can endure without virtue.
And no free society can survive without citizens who are strong in body, clear in mind, and anchored in faith.

We can become those citizens again.
It begins with each of us getting back to the fundamentals that made the West worth defending.

Wishing you strength, clarity, and conviction on this Independence Day.
